Eagles’ Nick Siriani is behind Jalen Hurts despite offensive struggles against Packers
With Philadelphia Eagles having clinched their playoff spot with several weeks of games left, it was their chance to rest their quarterback Jalen Hurts to make sure he’ll be in top shape come the postseason. Hurts has been dealing with a concussion for the past few weeks, but made a timely return Eagles 22-10 win over Green Bay Packers in the NFL Wild Card round on Sunday.
Hurts, however, was not at his best on Sunday night. While Hurts’ final stat line wasn’t bad, as he completed 13 of his 21 passes for two touchdowns and no interceptions, the Eagles’ offense seemed to remain in neutral throughout the game. If the Eagles faced a team that wasn’t as hurt as the Packers, then they might have had a tougher time.
Regardless, the head coach of the Eagles Nick Sirianni knows that Hurts is on the field to win, regardless of the path he took to get there, all that matters.
“We struggled a little bit as an offense … We didn’t have the play we wanted to have,” Siriani said, per 94 VIP’s Elliot Shore-Parks . “(But) Jalen Hurts is a winner. He wins. No one can dispute that.”
Indeed, no one can argue that Hurts is a winner, and the Eagles are one step closer to returning to the Super Bowl after being eliminated from the playoffs in 2024. the good news for the Eagles is that they can win even without getting an A-game from their KB1, which speaks volumes for the number of weapons they have on their team. A ton of credit has to go to their defense as they forced many Packers turnovers that kept Green Bay at a safe distance.

The Eagles advance to the NFL Divisional Round

To say the Eagles’ win over the Packers was ugly would be an understatement. The first half ended 10-0 in Philadelphia’s favor as both teams struggled with execution, most notably the Packers’ turnover issues.
This is why the regular season is important in the NFL; home field advantage certainly helped the Eagles a lot in their win over the Packers, and this should play a big factor once again in the Divisional Round, as they will surely face a lower-seeded team. Now the hope is that this game shakes off any rust that may have been present for Jalen Hurts.
