End of streak for Harrison Barnes, the “Ironman” of the Spurs
December 2021. While still wearing the jersey of Kings, Harrison Barnes returns to action after five matches of absence. Not realizing that he had gone to go through the years without missing a date.
After 364 consecutive matches played, the Spurs winger ended his streak of longevity last night. Distracted by pain in the wrist, he did not participate in stripped by the Texans on the floor of the Sixers.
It was a last-minute withdrawal as Mitch Johnson only indicated that he felt pain after waking up from a nap and receiving treatment from the medical staff.
Otherwise, Harrison Barnes would undoubtedly still be coming off the Spurs bench, as he has been for about a month now, even though he’s been a starter for most of his career. With the series, another one of 775 games in a row started at five (between Golden State, Dallas, Sacramento and San Antonio)!
Always an exemplary attitude
« He accepted his role without any problem. It happened naturally. This also allowed Devin (Wassell) to show some very good stuff », recently welcomed Victor Vembanyama. « He wants to win. If you’ve watched him over the years, his only goal is to win. He will do whatever it takes to win. That is what stands out most about him. Dylan Harper added.
Always an exemplary attitude, which was highlighted by their coach. ” It’s a great reminder of what Harrison has accomplished in this league: He’s been a starter all along with such consistency. As for his starting spot in this team, it’s only a matter of discussion in relation to what he has achieved in the past “, assured Mitch Johnson.
We remind ourselves of that Mikal Bridges hold longest streak of consecutive matches in activity with 616 meetings. Harrison Barnes was second only to the Knicks in games played since 2021.
