Erik Spoelstra’s house in Miami burned to the ground
This Thursday morning, around 4:30 a.m., a fire broke out in a house in MiamiErik SpoelstraHeat coach.
Upon arrival, Miami-Dade firefighters found two structures on the property already on fire, including the main house. And reinforcements were quickly called, due to the partial collapse of the building.
More than twenty ambulance units were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters described “flames as tall as trees” which was very complicated to control, access to the property proved difficult with a single entry point, a very high wall and dense vegetation that slowed down the intervention. Despite this, firefighters were able to contain the fire before it spread to neighboring houses.
At the scene, we could see Erik Spoelstra, visibly very shocked, surveying the damage. His longtime assistant Chris Quinn he was also seen next to him. However, there were no reports of injuries.
The neighbor said the house had been under renovation for more than a year and had recently hosted a big party, suggesting the work had been completed. For now, the origin of the disaster remains unknown.
In the middle of the “trip” to the West (three losses at the Spurs, Lakers and Nuggets, to win against the Clippers), the Miami coach could in any case see the damage only after returning, because the Heat’s plane landed in Florida around 5 am, just 30 minutes after the fire broke out…
