EuroBasket 2027: Great Britain beat Norway 91-48 in qualifying
Great Britain got their EuroBasket 2027 qualification campaign back on track with a comfortable 91-48 win against Norway in Bergen.
Britain started their qualifiers with a win against Switzerland in Manchester, but fell to narrow defeat to Austria in Vienna in his second outing last weekend.
But they took command early against the Norwegians, with Savannah Wilkinson dropping 12 points in the first quarter alone as the visitors took a 26-16 lead.
They didn’t let the lead slip away, extending the deficit to 53-25 by halftime and eventually cruising to victory to seal a dominant performance on the road.
Wilkinson led the way for the British with 20 points, followed by Hannah Jump and Tami Fagbenle with 13 each, while Stine Austgulen topped Norway’s table with 18 points.
The women’s team, which participated in the qualifiers despite Phoebe’s suspension from the British Basketball Federationwill play the remaining three matches of the first round in March 2026.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the second qualifying round, along with the three best-placed third-placed teams from the seven groups.
The next edition of EuroBasket will be jointly hosted by Belgium, Sweden, Finland and Lithuania in June 2027.
