Even Darko Rajakovic knows that Toronto needs to ‘fill up very quickly’

The Toronto Raptors they had a difficult two days. two days ago Toronto lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Los Angeles Lakers after beating Rui Hachimura. The day after that, the Raptors had to play back-to-back games against the Charlotte Hornets. Toronto looked completely stuffed in that game, losing to Charlotte 111-86.
Back-to-back was the icing on the cake of a brutal week for the Raptors. Toronto had to play five games in seven games, an impossible task for any NBA team. They won just one of those five games, going two straight in that stretch. There is no doubt that the Raptors are working on steam, but coach Darko Rajakovic said yes his team needs to figure out how to push through this pain.
“Darko when asked if the team looked mentally/physically worn out tonight after a long week: ‘Yes,'” said Omar Osman. “‘5 games in 7 nights…Mentally, physically, we’ve got to run. We’ve got to load up real quick on Sunday (against Boston)…The schedule is what it is, but we’ve got to come back and find our energy level and compete.”
The Raptors got a bit of a straw this week, as they had to face the Hornets, Lakers, Knicks and Trail Blazers twice. Of those games, Toronto won just one game, their matchup against the Trail Blazers. After starting the season strong, the Raptors fell to third place in the East with a 15-9 record.
The good news for the Raptors is that the early record they built during their hot start paid off today. That being said, Toronto has no time to rest just yet. They get a day off before playing the Celtics on Sunday. Can Toronto find another winning gear inside?
