Fans can’t stop joking about DJ Burns’ jersey size after signing with the Swarm

The The Charlotte Hornets had an up-and-down start to the 2025-26 NBA season, currently at 2-2 after Tuesday night’s road loss to the Miami Heat. however, LaMelo Ball played the best basketball of his career to open this season, and the team looks as promising as it has in years as a result.

Meanwhile, the Hornets’ front office is busy scouting G League talent, including the Greensboro Swarm organization. Most recently, the Swarm acquired former NCAA Tournament standout DJ Burns, who led NC State to the Final Four in the 2024 season.

During a recent interview, fans couldn’t help but notice that Burns’ jersey looked like that a little tight for the Swarm (via NBACentral on X, formerly Twitter.

“Seems like a dad living through his child, tailored for a parent vs. child game,” one fan wrote.

“They need to get him a bigger jersey,” added another.

Others thought about the NBA G League as a whole.

“This is what I like to see the G-League do better and stand out better. There’s no reason why big names, especially Americans, aren’t getting more and more chances to make it to the NBA after college. Playing overseas is cool, but it’s different than the NBA,” they wrote.

Meanwhile, in the big leagues, the Charlotte Hornets are trying to find ways to field a competitive NBA team after failing to do so the past few years.

As mentioned earlier, LaMelo Ball has had a solid start to the year, but the Hornets have also gotten strong play from some of their younger players, including first-round draft pick Kon Knuepel.

Overall, if Ball continues to play at this level and the team’s defense improves a bit, it’s not hard to imagine Charlotte finding a way to compete for a playoff spot, given the current state of the Eastern Conference.
