After falling apart towards the end of the 2024-25 season, a slow start is not what it is Memphis Grizzlies imagined that they would enter a new campaign. But with Ja Morant looks like a shell of his former self while dealing with frustrations with the coaching staff and his team’s play, the Grizzlies are entering a negative feedback loop that seems impossible to end, especially after another loss, this time to the New York Knicks 133-120.
Morant did have 16 points and 10 assists to lead the Grizzlies offense, but those numbers just aren’t enough to make up for how much he struggles in other aspects of the game. For starters, he turned the ball over eight times against the Knicks, which is a terrible number for anyone. Moreover, he shot just 4-14 from the field (2-6 from three), and his shooting ineffectiveness hampers all other parts of the game as defenders simply give him room to shoot from the perimeter.
It might be overkill at this point for fans to flock to a Morant vs. Grizzly fight. But as long as this continues, social media clowning will also continue.

How do the Grizzlies handle the Ja Morant situation?
At this point, the Grizzlies must be very painful that their star is playing this poorly until his body language screams for a trade. How can Memphis simply write off Morant as a cornerstone of their franchise when he’s playing this terribly, reducing his trade value in the process?
