Fans have feelings after the Keon Ellis, Dennis Schroeder trade

The The Sacramento Kings have come to an agreement days before the trade deadline, acquisition De’Andre Hunter from the Cleveland Cavaliers for Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis. The The Kings have been a team in trade rumors over the past few weeks, but it was uncertain who they were willing to move, with both Schroder and Ellis appearing to be players.

While the organization may have felt this was a good trade for them moving forward, there are a few fans who I’m not feeling well about that.

“Kings fans, it’s important to know that this trade blew up and the local media that will tell you otherwise on Monday are not your friends. They don’t care about you like I do,” Greg wrote on Bluesky.

“It’s a great trade for players who no longer have to play for this wreck of a team. Keon will be great in Cleveland and the Kings will regret this trade in about two seconds, another user wrote.

It also doesn’t seem like many like what Hunter can bring to the team.

“Best case scenario for the Kings is that Hunter regains some value and they can move him at the next deadline,” one user wrote on Ksformerly Twitter.

Others think this is probably the best outcome for the Kings.

“Trade is meh, but it has to happen. Perry cut a veteran contract. Probably the only one who could. Perry never should have signed Schroeder. He would have been much better off extending Keon. The Kings messed up with Keon this season FAR WORSE than MIKE BROWN EVER COULD. Hopefully the first move of many,” Matt1 George of Sactown wrote on Ks.

In the end, it doesn’t sound like many fans have enjoyed their experience with the team this season, which is understandable, but this change may have been the thing that caused a few to fall.
