Fans melt after Minnesota chokes again in overtime loss to Kings
It was a rather unpleasant last two games for Minnesota Timberwolvesa team that made it to the Western Conference Finals two years in a row. In the waning embers of those games, they were in control against the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings, only for them to be on the losing end come the final buzzer. On Monday evening, The Timberwolves let a 10-point lead slip away in the span of a minute, and ended up losing to the Kings 117-112.
This comes after a loss to the Suns in which they led by eight points with 1:09 left. They were careless and turned the ball over multiple times, and Phoenix made them pay in the form of a game winner Collin Gillespie.
On Monday, they simply couldn’t stop Malik Monk, who scored seven points in quick succession to cut the Timberwolves’ lead to three. DeMar DeRozan then tied the game and then took over in overtime — making Anthony Edwards’ 43-point night moot in the loss.
Suffice to say, Timberwolves fans are not happy, and they’ve made their displeasure known through their posts on social media.
“This team doesn’t sniff the conference finals this year,” Ks user @Batman_Bevare wrote.
“The Timberwolves don’t care about winning anymore, they’re such fucking trash,” @kingcream260 he added.
“All you old poor Timberwolves fans who were ‘alive when we had KG’ are the worst people ever. Being okay with repeating performances like this disgraceful coaching is quite up to your standards. Poor loves company, screw you,” @BeyondH1M further.
“Players coming together right away. Unacceptable stuff. Worst two back-to-back Wolves games I’ve ever seen in my life. Probably worst two losses I’ve ever seen by any team,” @TateTakes expressed.
The Timberwolves may need a point guard

The Timberwolves have struggled to execute in crunch time, and having a point guard who can stay composed on offense would do wonders for this team. Mike Conley is no longer that guy, as he is already 38 years old.
It’s not time to panic yet for the Timberwolves; they also took time to wish last year. But losses like this cannot be repeated until the end of the season – not when they have championship ambitions.
