Finally a breakthrough in free throws for Mitchell Robinson?

Mitchell Robinson7/8 on free throws. For most NBA players, this is a classic free throw record, but for Mitchell Robinsonit’s simply the best performance of his career in exercise!

In his career, the Knicks center is shooting just 52% from the penalty line, and he was just 22% (6/27) since the start of the season, prior to the Sixers. With this 7/8 against Philadelphiahis percentage however has jumped as he now shows a (slightly) more respectable success rate of 37%.

“He worked hard to get there. It’s a process.”, explained son coach, Mike Brown. “Peter Patton (Knicks shooting coach) and Mark Bryant have done a great job with him, but most importantly, Mitch has bought into what they’re trying to teach him about free throws.

But the 27-year-old pivot had to work hard to finally reap the rewards of his efforts, modifying the trajectory of his shots to provide more angle to his shots…

“I want to play the fourth quarter”

“It’s nice to see because every time you see positive results, it builds confidence not only in the individual, but in the rest of the group as well.” his coach explains again.

For the game against the Sixers, in which he finished with 21 points and 16 rebounds, Mitchell Robinson arrived in the room at 10 a.m. to work out. A little too soon for his liking, but as it worked so well, he explains that he will now incorporate this little morning ritual into his routine. Because he wants to play at the end of the match.

“I’m trying to prevent opponents from using Hack and all that shit. This is my main goal”he concluded, when Nick Nurse willingly sent him to the line in the third quarter. “I want to play the fourth quarter. The longer I stay on the court, the more I can help my teammates.”
