For Rick Carlisle, seeing Pascal Siakam at the All-Star Game is a good example
two weeks ago, Rick Carlisle appealed to his colleagues : should have voted for Pascal Sakak and send him to the All-Star Game. Sure, the Pacers had a disastrous season, but the interior was exemplary and had, on an individual level, a great season. The message went through as the Cameroonian is one of the players called up by the coaches.
So he took great advantage of the new format and also the weakness of the Eastern Conference to find a place. However, for his coach, finding Pascal Siakam among the stars, despite the defeats, is a good example to follow.
“It is already a result of his level of play, but also of his leadership, his integrity”, analyze Rick Carlisle on this fourth star for the 2019 champion. “He never complains about anything. He keeps his head on the right track, keeps working and leads by example like great leaders do, regardless of the circumstances. This is a great message for players in complicated situations: this is how you should behave, how you should play.”
Scoring 20 points in the second half against Houstonfinalist in 2025 once again showed his character, the ability to make an effort to lift the Pacers out of mediocrity. As in most cases this season, it was not enough to avoid another defeat, the 37th in 50 matches.
“I’ve improved so much, playing every day no matter what happened. I’m working every day. I’m throwing myself into it, I’m doing my job every day.”raconte Siakam. “There are days when it’s not nice, others when it’s much better. I don’t care about that. I make sure to be present at every match.”
And what does this fourth participation in the All-Star Game represent? “It’s a privilege. It’s a testament to my work, my hard work, giving my best or at least trying.”he concludes.
