Geez, the Pacers are getting hit with huge fines for the league’s tanking issues

The NBA has a serious tanking problem. Over the past few weeks, there have been multiple instances of teams seemingly taking drastic measures to ensure they lose games. The two teams surveyed this month were Utah Jazz and the Indiana Pacers. After these questionable incidents, the NBA fined both the Jazz and the Pacers for their open tanking.
“Overt behavior like this that prioritizes draft position over winning undermines the foundation of NBA competition, and we will respond accordingly to any further actions that threaten the integrity of our games,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement released by the NBA. “In addition, we are working with our competition committee and board of governors to implement further measures to stamp out this type of behaviour.”
