George Springer makes a personal ALCS Game 7 statement

George Springer is a born winner who will do whatever it takes to be on the field in the games that really matter. He’s a former World Series champion who brings experience and some battle-tested leadership Toronto Blue Jays a squad that has been looking to get over the hump for years.

And there might not be a better opportunity for Springer and the Blue Jays to win it all than the one right in front of them right now, as they are one win away from returning to the World Series after an incredible effort on Sunday night led to a 6-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners in Game 6 of the ALCS.

Springer is in the midst of a comeback year himself, as he manages to stave off the effects of Father Time and turn in one of his best professional seasons to date. And what better way for Springer to end this incredible 2025 campaign than with another World Series title? Alas, they cannot think that far yet.

The Blue Jays veteran knows they have to takes care of business at home in Game 7, and finds it an exciting prospect to be involved in what is shaping up to be one of the most intense games of the season.

“(How do I feel) going into Game 7? Great! I’ll be there. I’m good,” Springer said, per Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.

But Springer knows how much it will take for the Blue Jays overcome the Mariners. It will take the entire team to punch their ticket to the World Series, and he’s counting on each of them to play their given role in keeping their World Series dreams alive.

“They’re going to take everything we’ve got. They’re going to take every guy in this room. But that’s the best part of it. Every team is in the same spot. So you’ve got to go out there and play and enjoy the moment,” Springer added.

As if there wasn’t already enough pressure on the shoulders of the Blue Jays and Mariners, they are battling each other for the right to face the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.

Regardless, both teams can’t afford to look that far ahead. Toronto will hope so Shane Bieber gives his best performance at the end of his life, making him one of the best trade deadline acquisitions of all time. The first pitch in Game 7 will be thrown Monday night around 8:08 PM ET
