Giannis addressed teammates amid trade rumors
During the past week, The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors only seemed to get louder and louder with each passing day and each loss Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks are currently sitting in 10th place in the East at 10-15, and with Antetokounmpo nursing a calf injury that will keep him out for at least the next few weeks, big changes could be coming soon for a Bucks team that is sorely lacking good draft assets to capitalize on a down season.
Since Antetokounmpo was set to enter free agency in 2027, there is pressure on the Bucks to build a roster around him who can compete for the title. But with their decision to waive and extend Damian Lillard to bring in Myles Turner, as well as their choice to trade Khris Middleton for Kyle Kuzma, the Bucks’ future looks so bleak.
Yet Antetokounmpo, according to Chris Haynes, reportedly he addressed his teammatestelling them he’s still with them at the Bucks and simply wants the team to go through the process of getting better together.
“Giannis Antetokounmpo recently spoke to some of his teammates to emphasize the importance of focusing on basketball … I’m told his point is that he’s here … he wants to get better,” Haynes told NBA TV.

The end may be near for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Antetokounmpo appears to be a franchise cornerstone who sticks with one team for the rest of his career. But the Bucks’ prospects don’t look so hot right now. While someone like Kobe Bryant, a one-team superstar, has endured three seasons of middling play, the Los Angeles Lakers have been able to build a competitive roster by nabbing Pau Gasol in a steal of a trade.
It’s not entirely clear if the Bucks can do the same. The new CBA makes things much more difficult. And because of that, it looks like Giannis’ time with the team is coming to an end.
