“We don’t play hard … We don’t play to win,” Antetokounmpo he told reporters. “We’re not playing together. Our chemistry isn’t there. Guys are selfish. Guys are trying to look for their own shots instead of looking for the right shot for the team. Guys are trying to do it themselves.”
“Sometimes I feel like when we’re down 10, 15, 20, we’re trying to make it up in one play and it’s not going to work. We’ve just got to keep sharing possession after possession.”
The Bucks’ loss to the Thunder — the best team in the NBA — is understandable. Not many teams can say they beat OKC this year. However, Giannis clearly wasn’t a fan of his team’s effort and decision-making in the game.
Milwaukee now holds an 18-25 overall record. If the season ended today, the 11th Bucks would not even have a spot in the NBA Play-In tournament.
It’s been a frustrating season, and one has to wonder if the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade will ultimately come to fruition. Antetokounmpo has been loyal to Milwaukee and could very well stay with the Bucks after the trade deadline, but a move appears to be at least a possibility.
