Giannis Antetokounmpo commits to Milwaukee “as of today”

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo took a short break from a challenging season to show his competitive spirit on another stage, coaching the Giannis team to a 65-58 victory in the All-Star Game of Fame. Alongside his brothers and Mookie Betts, the Milwaukee player led his roster through tough competition at the Kia Forum, emphasizing his simple desire to win, regardless of the environment.

While managing a diverse group that included MVP Rim Flynn and even ESPN’s Shams Charania, Giannis balanced the fun at the event with his trademark intensity. Currently without a calf, the two-time MVP used the weekend as a vital respite from the ongoing noise surrounding the Bucks’ recent struggles and trade deadline rumors.

His commitment to the city remains a focal point as he navigates these professional hurdles.

As shared by Oh No, it’s not on X, Giannis remains steadfast in its current environment:

“As of today, I am committed.” Milwaukee BucksI am dedicated to the people I work with, my teammates, the coaching staff, Coach Doc and John in the front office…you will never hear me say that I don’t want to be a Milwaukee Buck. I am a winner, and I am extremely loyal. Growing up, you dream of what if I play for the Knicks at Madison Square Garden? What if I get drafted by the Lakers and now I’m teammates with Kobe, what if I go play for the Cavs and LeBron passes me the ball? If there was ever a scenario where I was no longer a Milwaukee Buck, I don’t want anyone to ever think that I quit my team because this is my team and I love it.”

This dedication was on full display even on weekends, as when he offered some hilarious advice to former NBA center Taku Fall.

Encouraging the 7-foot-6 giant to embrace his size rather than emulate modern perimeter-oriented greats, Giannis told him to “stop trying to be like Wemby, be like Shaq!”

Despite the awkwardness of coaching media figures like Charania after recent front-office clashes, Antetokounmpo’s focus has remained on the game and his deep-rooted connection to the Milwaukee franchise.
