Giannis Antetokounmpo is out against the Cavs with a groin injury

According to ClutchPoints’ Spencer Davies, Antetokounmpo will not return in the second half, dealing the Bucks a huge blow.

He grimaced in pain as he tried to get off the floor in the second quarter. In the first half in 13 minutes, he scored 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal. He also had four turnovers.

Kyle Kuzma and Bobby Portis are expected to fill the void with Antetokounmpo’s departure.

That goes without saying The Bucks can’t afford to lose two-time MVP. He is the heart and soul of the team and its most competitive player. He is averaging career highs of 32.6 points, 7.1 assists, 11.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks this season.

Milwaukee is already without Kevin Porter Jr., who is still recovering from a knee injury.

It’s the first time Antetokounmpo has suffered a groin injury, which could keep him out for at least a week. The wear and tear on his playing style may be slowly catching up with him.

The nine-time All-Star is trying to lead the Bucks to a deeper playoff run after suffering three straight first-round losses. They are still looking for consistency as they are 4-5 in their last nine games.

At the time of writing, the Bucks trailed the Cavaliers by four points, 92-88, heading into the fourth quarter.
