Giannis Antetokounmpo Unveils the Latest Nike Giannis Freak 8

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo he’s having a solid year by his own standards, but he’ll be the first to value his team’s success more than personal accolades. While the Bucks hope to improve from their 11th place in the East standings, Antetokounmpo has been working hard in the weight room looking to improve for the good of the team. Recent training photos also revealed his upcoming Nike Giannis Freak 8 sneakers.

Nike’s first signing of 2017, two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo had a very successful run of signature sneakers. He already has seven sneakers in his The Nike Freak linealong with a subset of the Nike Giannis Immortaliti sneakers. Usually waiting until the off-season to debut his latest creation, fans got a sneak peek at the silhouette before it’s revealed at retail.

According to photos shared by Antetokounmpo on social media, the sneaker appears to be his latest signature Freak 8. Appearing in a hyper pink and metallic gold colorway, we see the completed updated silhouette with the previous Freak 7. While similarities can be seen in the wavy midsoles and chunky support systems, all Nike Giannis sneakers have their own unique aspects and designs.

Previously, the backwards Nike Swoosh served as a trademark for Nike Giannis sneakers, so it’s interesting to see minimal branding and a clean, metallic gold Nike Swoosh along the center. The shoes feature a contrasting tongue as we’ll wait for further looks to see what the tongue and rear heel designs consist of.

For now, we’ll have to wait patiently for official images from retailers, but fans can rest easy knowing that the Nike Giannis Freak 8 looks to be an early hit. What do you think of this new silhouette?
