Giannis Antetokounmpo’s departure from Milwaukee is getting closer…
Although he reiterated that he would never ask for a transfer (publicly?) auk Bucks, ESPN assures that Giannis Antetokounmpo is more ready than ever to leave the Bucks. Until the trade deadline or next summer!
Currently on the sidelines after a new calf strain, “The Greek Freak” has been heralded on the sidelines for four to six weeks. Which Doc Rivers and Milwaukee have not confirmed.
Perhaps this new stint in the “hospital” will allow negotiations for his departure to Wisconsin, as ESPN reports that the two-time MVP has been letting his franchise know for months that it’s time to part ways.
However, as Giannis Antetokounmpo has always refused to publicly accept his wishes elsewhere, his club has done everything to make him change his mind. But it’s clear that the summer changes haven’t made Milwaukee a title contender again. On the contrary, the team is currently 12th in the East (18-27).
Now it’s up to Milwaukee to find the best counterpart while the contenders find him (Miami, New York…) will probably be numerous. The big question may be whether the 31-year-old will be traded by Feb. 5, or if Milwaukee is ready to play in time to make a move next summer. By raising the stakes between interested teams…
