Giannis gives fans reason to smile amid trade rumors

One of the biggest stories in the NBA with the trade season upon us is what the future holds Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. Doc Giannis himself said he didn’t talk with the Bucks regarding his future, fans didn’t quite believe it was true. Either way, Giannis made sure Christmas was special for a group of young Bucks fans.

During the week of Christmas, Giannis Antetokounmpo was healing a group of young fans to a special event at Dick’s Sporting Goods where they were given gift bags as well as gift cards to purchase merchandise. They also received a pair of shoes from the Bucks star.

On the basketball side, Antetokounmpo appears to be making progress in his recovery from the calf injury that has sidelined him since Dec. 2. The initial forecast for his return was two to four weeks. The Bucks have struggled this season and are currently 11th in the Eastern Conference standings at 12-18.

Antetokounmpo has appeared in 17 games so far this season, logging just over 29 minutes per game. He averaged 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists on 63.9 percent shooting from the field, 43.5 percent from the 3-point line and 63.5 percent from the free throw line.

Amidst the Bucks’ struggles, rumors and speculation have heated up about the franchise star potentially looking for a trade. But as the trade winds blow and the deadline approaches, The dollar is reportedly in the market as buyers wanting to add help around Giannis instead of blowing him up.
