Giddy gets praise from LeBron at All-Star weekend

The Chicago Bulls‘ Josh Giddei maybe not a part NBA All-Star weekend this time. However, there is little doubt that he was playing at an All-Star level in recent monthsaveraged 18.6 points, 8.8 assists and 8.6 rebounds per game in his second season in Chicago.
And while he’s not yet an All-Star, the Bulls’ big man has received high praise from none other LeBron James.
“I think Josh Giddy continues to get better and better … I think Chicago has a really good player in there.”

“I think Josh Giddei continues to get better and better. I think his development since he got to Chicago. What he wasn’t (known for) when he left OKC was his ability to shoot the ball,” James said, pointing to an obvious area of improvement in Giddei’s game.
And while there may not be a huge improvement in his overall shooting percentage, Giddei has increased his volume and shown an increased willingness to take on defenders and shoot. That’s something even James can see.
“Now he’s shooting the ball, you can’t just move away from him, you can’t just throw him off and make him shoot. He’s actually shooting the ball at a high clip. He’s obviously a big guard, he pushes the tempo fast. I think Chicago has a really good player in him,” he said. per clip Posted on X by ClutchPoints.
The Lakers star noted that Giddy has added a reliable jumper to a game already built around passing, pace and size. The change has changed the way defenses treat him, turning what was once a weakness into a real scoring threat.
After trading Alex Caruso for Giddy in 2024 and later signing him to a four-year, $100 million extension, the Bulls made it clear they see him as a foundation. His string of triple-doubles, franchise-level statistical milestones and improved scoring began to confirm that belief.
Even with the jump in shooting, Giddei’s biggest strength still comes from his size as a lead guard and his ability to push the pace. At over 6-foot-8, he creates problems in the matchup, rebounds as a forward and initiates the attack with normal ease.
