Golden State’s collective makes short work of the Blazers

The WarriorsNo win against Blazers this season, Warriors start a match on the cloud. Moses Moody (14 points, 4/8 3-pointers), Jimmy Butler (16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists) and five players made at least one 3-pointer, and Golden State finished the first quarter with 13 assists on 14 shots for an 18-point lead (33-17).

Without Danny Avidia, Portland’s offense is struggling to get going. Sheddon Sharpe’s burst (19 points) limits the damage, but the Warriors’ prowess continues. De’Anthony Melton (23 points) and Guy Santos scored in the head (56-31). Brandin Podziemski (15 points) and Will Richard match up and the deficit reaches +29 just before halftime (67-38).

The Blazers regain their composure after returning from the locker room. Jrue Holiday and Toumani Camara scored and Tiago Splitter’s men started the half with a 19-5 lead to get back to -12 (72-60). Stephen Curry (7 points, 11 assists) and Jimmy Butler revive Golden State. Their defensive intensity is increasing and their skill is returning. Moses Moody, Al Horford and Brandin Podziemski put Portland on the mat again (95-71).

With Ryan Rupert (13 points) showing up in the final quarter, the Warriors are cruising to an easy win before they meet the Knicks in two days.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler at the helm. While Draymond Green lost seven balls, Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler split 15 caviar between them. If the leader once lacked skill, he still left his mark on the match by reversing the aggressiveness of the Blazers’ defense. Jimmy Butler, with his new haircut, was efficient and sober. Unlike the game against Atlanta two days ago, his attacks from the circle turned into offers that were converted by his teammates.

Warriors bench on fire. From the start of the match, Golden State announced the color with a barrage of 3-point shots. Steve Kerr’s bench, non-existent against the Hawks, made up for it last night. With the exception of Gary Payton II, all Golden State substitutes made at least two 3-pointers, with De’Anthony Melton (4/6) and Brandin Podziemski (3/5) standing out. The Warriors bench finished a distant 13/29.

Ryan Rupert appears. With Danny Avidia and Jerami Grant out and the matchup quickly out of reach, Ryan Rupert was able to take advantage of his chance to show Tiago Splitter that he has a place in his rotation. He finished the match with 13 points on 5/9 shooting in 26 minutes of play.
