The Thunder completely demolished the Suns with a score of 138-89 and advanced to the semi-finals. They await the winner of the quarterfinals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs.
Allen’s ejection only made it more difficult for the Suns, who were without Devin Booker due to a groin injury. The Thunder led by as many as 50 points. That’s not a typo.
The frustration got the better of the 30-year-old Allen, who has had plenty of hot moments in the past, even if he was still playing for Duke.
Allen is having another solid campaign in Phoenix, stepping up in the continued absence of Jalen Green, who is nursing a hamstring injury. Allen averaged a career-high 16.9 points, 3.9 assists and 1.6 steals against Oklahoma City.
But even his strong play wasn’t enough to slow the Thunder, who scored 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting and eight assists from Gilgeous-Alexander. Holmgren added 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-4 from long range.
Dillon Brooks led the scoring for the Suns with 16 points. Jordan Goodwin scored 15 points off the bench.
