Grayson Allen skipped the NBA trade deadline after being traded between Phoenix and the Bucks

SCOTTSDALE– Perspective is something Grayson Allen he knows a lot about that after entering his eighth NBA season. Although it is Phoenix Suns the sniper has never been traded mid-season, he understands the game.

After that The Suns and Milwaukee Bucks made a trade for Nick Richards and Nigel Hayes-Davies, it seemed like an inevitable move. Both players received minimal playing time, but were still engaged and kept the Phoenix culture within the team.

They could have easily sat back and sulked, but they chose to exemplify veteran leadership. Still, that doesn’t mean the uncertainty goes away as the NBA trade deadline season begins and ends.

For Allen, it’s something that he is he doesn’t pay much attention that because of its heightened perspective.

“Worrying about it for a week doesn’t really matter,” Allen said after the Suns’ Thursday morning game. “(There were) years where I wasn’t really worried about all that. … It’s just not worth worrying about.”

As Allen approached the group of reporters, he realized someone was going to ask about the trade. Admittedly, he is not the general manager or the one who makes those executive decisions.

Regardless, he knows it’s hard to move on from teammates he’s built a bond with. That it happened so quickly is what baffles many, but not Allen.

He knows how the game is played, but he took care of it give their former teammates their flowers on the way out.

“Great teammates. They’re a great part of our team,” Allen said. “The energy, the work ethic, their attitude in practice, their attitude toward the group, even when they’re not playing, they’ve been great this year. They haven’t taken away from what we’ve been doing.”

In return, Phoenix received Amir Coffey and Cole Anthony. It’s not certain if either will get significant playing time or anything else. One thing is certain: Solar culture does not change because of trade.

The rotation seems to be stiff, so messing with it might break some things. Regardless, Allen knows the NBA trade deadline is almost over and the heightened concern has passed.
