Guerschon Iabusele posts a cryptic message hinting at a possible trade

Some things just don’t work in the NBA for whatever reason, and that New York Knicks they seem to be coming to that conclusion when it comes to their offseason signing of Guerschon Iabusele. Iabusele was coming off a solid comeback season after spending some time overseas, but he didn’t play well at all for the Knicks. And with head coach Mike Brown having other options at center, Yabusele has become quite the expendable piece.

There wasn’t much risk in the Knicks’ decision to bring in Jabusele. But it’s certainly disappointing that the man they dedicated most of their mid-level taxpayer exemptions to has become quite expendable. Using Jabusele’s contract as a means of getting an upgrade on the market appears to be the easiest course of action for the Knicks, and the 30-year-old Frenchman already seems to know the writing on the wall.

“Whatever happens tomorrow, I’m extremely blessed to be in the position I’m in today. A minor setback for a big comeback which is my favorite. I love you 🖤 #777,” Yabusele wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

A A change of scenery seems to be what Yabusele needs to get his NBA career back on track. He has it in him to bounce; however, he hasn’t magically lost the talent that allowed him to average 11 points a night last season.

The Knicks probably won’t get much back in return for Jabusele and other tradable assets. But there is a chance that Yabusele will be pushed into a bigger deal, reportedly with New York entertaining the idea of trading Karl-Anthony Towns.

With two weeks remaining before the trade deadline, New York has to work the phones in an attempt to find ways to improve the roster amid a rough stretch to start the 2026 calendar year.
