Please note that the names of the 2026 Hall of Famers will be announced on April 4, on the sidelines of the NCAA Final Four.

Remember that the selection process for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is complex, organized into four committees: the “North American” Committee, the “Women’s” Committee, the “International” Committee and the “Veterans” Committee.

While the Women’s, International and Veterans committees can only propose two names, the North American committee can independently propose up to ten names. These are then forwarded to the 24-member Honors Committee, which will then vote on each name submitted.

To finally be inducted, a player must receive at least 18 votes from the 24 honors committee.
