Heat’s Tyler Hero reveals key goal for rest of season: ‘It’s on my mind’
As Miami Heat star Tyler Hero is back in the team’s 128-97 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night, after missing the previous 15 games, it was a positive example for the point guard to remind the league of his abilities. With The Heat are looking to turn their season around after the All-Star breakFriday was a step in the right direction, especially for Herr, as he revealed his main goal for the rest of the year.
It’s been a frustrating season, to say the least, for Hero, who, in addition to missing 15 games with a rib injury, has sat out 45 of Miami’s 57 games. In Friday’s win, he came off the bench to score 24 points on nine-of-14 shooting from the field, two-of-four from deep, four rebounds and three assists.
His No. 1 goal is to stay healthy for the remaining 25 contests, saying: “That’s all on my mind,” according to The Miami Herald.
“I just want to come out here and play with the whole team, get comfortable and make some healthy plays together,” Herro said. “Just try to play some of the games where I’m healthy.”
“I’m just happy to be playing basketball again,” Hero continued. “It’s been a tough few months, we’ve been going through various injuries from little things.”
Heat’s Tyler Herro on how his ribs feel

While it is The Heat guard at Hero returned to training on Thursdayit comes from an injury to the ribs that the team referred to as a “right costochondral; rib injury,” which is the joints that connect the ribs to the cartilage. After suffering three broken ribs in a Jan. 10 loss to the Indiana Pacers, he would play Torodol’s next three shots to manage the pain, but would miss time.
“I didn’t look at my ribs. We didn’t take another picture, but I feel good,” Hero said. “The last couple of days I’ve taken some shots there, and I feel a thousand times better than before. So I feel good. I don’t know what the actual rib looks like if I were to take an image or an MRI or something. But I feel good.”
Either way, Herro will continue to help Miami as the team is 30-27, heading into their next game on Saturday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.
