Herb Jones updated the Pistons’ pregame injury report

The The New Orleans Pelicans were wreck so far this season, is currently 10-35 heading into their upcoming matchup against the Detroit Pistons. New Orleans saw solid play by rookie Derrick Queenbut continued injury woes as well as an overall lack of talent on the roster have put the Pelicans near the bottom of the Western Conference so far this year.

On Tuesday, the team got a line some good news regarding forward Herb Jones.

“Herb Jones (sprained right ankle) has been upgraded to questionable for tomorrow’s game at Detroit. He has missed 14 of the last 15 games,” the Athletic’s Guillory reported on X, formerly Twitter.

Jones was once considered a key piece for the Pelicans, but has now become a trade talking point this year, with some speculating that teams might be willing to part with real assets to land a player who can defend like Jones while knocking down threes on the other end of the floor.

As Guillory mentioned, Jones has sat out 14 of the last 15 games for New Orleans, and the one game he did play was a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Wednesday, the Pelicans will host the East’s top seed, the Pistons, who extended their lead over the rest of the conference with a narrow home win over the Boston Celtics on Monday night. Having Jones in the lineup would certainly help New Orleans defensively against star Cade Cunningham, who was recently named a starter to the Eastern Conference All-Star team.

Either way, the Pelicans and Pistons are scheduled to tip off Wednesday night at 8:00 PM ET from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
