Why the Hornets could cover the spread/win

The Bulls don’t play good defense. They are allowing 120.5 points per game, second most in the NBA. They also allow teams to shoot 47.2 percent from the field against them. Additionally, the Bulls allow teams to make the most field goals per game in the NBA. Chicago really struggles to defend opposing teams, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see that be the case on Friday night. If the Hornets can hit their shots, they will be able to cover the spread in this game.

In their last five games, the Bulls have won just once. They are scoring below their season average, and that was maintained by their 138 point game against the Washington Wizards. In their last four losses, the Bulls have scored just 109.8 points per game. When Chicago scores fewer than 110 points this season, they are 2-9. With the way Chicago has been playing lately, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for them to score less than that point. The Bulls are not playing welland if charlotte can have a decent defensive game, they will have a chance to cover the spread.

Why the Bulls could cover the spread/win

Chicago doesn’t defend well, but they know how to score. The Bulls are scoring 117.5 points per game, which is tied for fourth in the NBA. They don’t have a great field goal percentage, but they take a lot of shots, which is why they do such a good job of scoring. Additionally, the Bulls are making the second three-pointers per game while owning the seventh-highest three-point percentage. If Chicago can keep hitting, they will be able to cover the spread at home.

The Bulls have played the Hornets twice this season and have won both of those games. In those games, the Bulls were actually able to play good defense. In those games, they allowed only 95 and 108 points respectively. Additionally, the Hornets are shooting under 40 percent against the Bulls in those two games. Even worse, the Hornets are just 18-89 from three-point range against Chicago. The Bulls haven’t played good defense all season, but they managed to dominate the Hornets. If the Bulls can continue their solid defensive play against the Hornets, they will win this game.

The Bulls are the better team, and they have the straight score to show for it. Charlotte’s lack of goals during the season wasn’t even mentioned. That said, the Bulls should have no problem shutting down the Hornets on Friday night. I’ll take the Bulls to not only win, but cover the spread.
