How Josh Giddy changed the trajectory of the Bulls by going from a shooting liability to a 3-point shooter

The Chicago Bulls they start quickly, and partly because Josh Giddei. last friday, Giddy scored a career-high 32 points as the Bulls beat the New York Knicks 135-125.
In doing so, they started 5-0 for the first time since the 1996-1997 championship season. The Bulls played the Knicks again on Sunday and lost their first game of the season 128-116.
Despite the loss, Gidi finished with a triple-double. He had 23 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists.
But what becomes apparent is that Giddei appeared as a real shooting threat, especially from the three-point line, per Jorgen Sandell of Pippen Ain’t Easy. During his days with the OKC Thunder, Giddei was mostly in the doldrums when it came to shooting from beyond the arc.
Over three seasons, 2021-2024, he posted an overall average of 31% in three. Last year, he shot 37.6% from four attempts per game in his first full season in Chicago. Overall, Giddy finished shooting 40% from the three-point line.
The big difference to that is the way the Bulls operate. The offense creates catch-and-shoot opportunities in transition, which bodes well for Giddei. So, allowing him to shoot wide open threes with confidence.
Overall, Giddei has become a powerful offensive presence. He has averaged 22.2 points and 8.7 assists per game so far, showing his ability to be an effective playmaker.
Also, Gidi has some security, since he signed a four-year, $100 million contract during the offseason. So he has that aspect of the game behind him and he can just go out there and play.
Josh Giddei is becoming a complete player
Given the situation the Bulls find themselves in with a young roster trying to figure out who they are, Giddy is making quite an impression. So far he has shown his ability to be a complete player.
In addition to scoring, Gidi is averaging 9.3 rebounds per game in the first six games.
Not only from a game point of view, but also from a moral point of view. Gidi is one of the team leaders with poise and maturity.
