How Max Christie feels about a possible 3-point contest call

On Monday night, The Dallas Mavericks surrendered one of their most memorable performances of the season with a big win on the road via the New York Knicks with a score of 114-97. Dallas was able to take full advantage of the turmoil currently surrounding the Knicks, at one point drawing a chorus of boos from the Madison Square Garden crowd.
The hero of the game for Dallas was the winger Max Christiewho knocked down eight three-pointers in the win.
After the game, Christie spoke what would be his reaction if the NBA were to invite him to participate in the three-point contest at the upcoming All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.
“That would be great. That would be great. Something I definitely wouldn’t turn down. Something that would be a dream come true for me and if I get the nod, that would be amazing. If not, I’m still grateful for the season I’ve had so far,” Christie said, per Mike Curtis of the Dallas Morning News on X, formerly Twitter.
Christy was the lesser-known piece that the Mavericks brought back along with Anthony Davis in the infamous Luka Doncic trade, which is currently approaching its one-year anniversary.
Since arriving in Dallas, things have been up and down for the former Los Angeles Laker, but this year, Christie is starting to pick things up from beyond the three-point line, all while maintaining the defensive reputation that made him an NBA rotation player to begin with.
Even as the Mavericks reportedly contemplate a rebuild that would see them completely retool around No. 1 draft pick Cooper Flagg, Christie appears to have earned a spot in Dallas’ long-term plans.
The Mavericks will next take the floor Thursday at home against the Golden State Warriors.
