What to expect in the Marathon Server Slam Open test

As mentioned, Marathon is an extraction shooter. In these games, players have a time limit in which they have to explore an area, search for loot and extract it safely. Of course, the actual game is a bit more complicated than that.

as a PvPvE game, you will encounter other players and UESC mechs who want to kill you, and the former try to steal your loot. Luckily, you won’t be alone, as you can team up with two other members before heading to the surface. However, you can also play solo if you want.

Unlike Arc Raiders, Marathon is also a class-based shooter. In total, the slam server provides five different Runners (including the rook) that you can play as. Feel free to unsubscribe full list of Runner Shells you can take control of Tau Ceti IV.

During the Open Test, players can drop into two zones, Perimeter and Dire Marsh. What’s more, you’ll also be able to accept contracts from five different factions, including NuCaloric, CiberAcme, Trakus, MIDA, and Arachne. During the Playtest, you can start progressing through the early faction levels to access your upgrade tree and improve your character.

Like Arc Raiders Server Slam, you won’t have access to all the features that will be available at launch. This includes:

  • Late Game Zones (Outpost and Crio Archive)
  • Full depth of contracts and progression for all factions
  • Ranked mode
  • Sixth Racing Shell (Thief)
  • Season 1 and end game unlockable content
