Igor Šesterkin helped in the dressing room after a potential leg injury

New York Rangers star goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin left Monday night’s game against the Utah Mammoths with an apparent lower-body injury.

The Russian netminder collided in front of the net with Mammoth forward JJ Peterko in the first period of the game at Madison Square Garden in New York. Shesterkin immediately fell onto his back and appeared to be in great pain after the seemingly accidental contact with Peterko.

The 30-year-old Shesterkin needed help as he left the ice on his way to the locker room.

With Shesterkin out, the Rangers called up Jonathan Quick to take over the duties between the pipes.
