In Portland, Jrue Holiday enjoys being closer to his family

“Nobody asked me for my opinion on the transfer. It’s true that Damian Lillard’s return to Portland animated the conversation more than his arrival Jrue Holidaytraded for Anfernee Simmons.

The latter will change dimension upon arrival in Bostonbut also a veteran, who is leaving the championship franchise in 2024 for a team in development.

“Everyone thought I was unhappy or unhappy. But when I got the call from Brad Stevens, I was very excited.”says the playmaker Andscape. “Joining a team with such players, such personalities, is nothing. Whether the team is young or experienced, being in a team that has personality is always a good thing.”

Los Angeles is not far

With Damian Lillard injured and even if he has talent, with Danny Avdia or Scoot Henderson, Jrue Holiday will undoubtedly carry more weight offensively than he did in Boston. “I expect to have a little bit more of a role in the offense, to carry the ball a little bit more. Maybe I’ll be a part of the offense more.”he slips.

What is also valuable for the two-time Olympic champion is getting closer to Los Angeles, his hometown. Since 2020 and his arrival in Milwaukee, he has remained in the East, while his family stays in California in the off-season, his parents as well. Since he’s in Portland, his wife and kids can come see him.

“I like being closer to home, to my family. I’ve already seen a lot of my family, who came from Los Angeles, and I feel good,” confirms Jrue Holiday. “You can always make any city your home, but I’ve always been from Los Angeles. A lot of my family is there, so it makes it easier to travel. It’s good for me and my family.”
