In the G-League, Nolan Traore patiently endures his troubles
It is known and assumed that the Nets started the reconstruction with a lot of young players, playmakers, and not all of them have important playing time. If Yegor Demin has responsibilities and makes mistakes, Nolan Traorehe didn’t get many opportunities in the NBA, with just 35 minutes in four games.
The Frenchman was therefore sent to the G-League, with the Long Island Nets, to cut his teeth. And he’s taking full advantage of that, averaging 16.7 points and 5.8 assists through six games.
Notably, he scored 28 points (plus 9 assists) against the Greensboro Roy. Then 15 points (on 5/14 shooting) and 9 assists again, still against the same opponent on Monday.
Which Jordi Fernandez did not miss. “It’s a very good show”, commented coach of the Nets before the game against the Knicks on the same day. “I texted him. I saw the match. His shots are going in and we can’t always have control over that. But we have control over the quality of the shots, over the selection.”
Brooklyn launched into a disastrous season (3 wins and 14 losses), which should not get better, Nolan Traore may have another chance to prove himself in the NBA in the coming weeks, especially if he continues to play well in the league’s lobby.
“These are coherent steps and we want this group to evolve at a high level as well”concluded Jordi Fernandes.
