In the last second, Tyrese McKay knocks out the Kings

The Kings continued their trip east with a stop in Philadelphia to challenge the Sixers and try to end their six-game losing streak. If Precious Achiuva opens the score, Tyrese McKay (40 points, 12/18 shooting) doesn’t take long to get going. The leader of Philadelphia scores eight of the first ten points (10-6). next to him Joel Embiid (37 points, 8 rebounds) also started the match well and reached ten points after twelve minutes of play (28-25).
To open the second quarter, it’s his turn Paul George to appear with two consecutive baskets. For his part, Tyrese McKay continues to lead the Sixers offense. Double All-Star strikeout Domantas Sabonis twice before shooting an arrow at long distances. In the process, he serves up Joel Embiid who also makes a 3-pointer (46-38).
However, this second quarter looks like the first and the Sixers cannot cover. At halftime they lead by six points, but Dennis Schroder (27 points, 4 rebounds) leads his team to one possession right after the break (60-57). Even better, the German ended up giving his team the lead in the middle of this third quarter (77-75).
Tirese McKay in the last second
Since then, the two teams have traded blows. This is an opportunity to Maquime Raynaud (8 points, 7 rebounds) to record the first points. To complete this third act, Keon Ellis scores a long shot (92-88). Sacramento continues its momentum with 9-0, concluded with 2+1 Zach Lavine, author of 17 points off the bench. The Kings then lead by eleven lengths, but Philadelphia comes back first thanks to Joel Embiid reaching 30 points, while Tyrese Maxey restores the lead to the Sixers with less than two minutes left (109-108).
If Zach LaVine answers with a long shot, he draws a foul on the Sixers’ leader, which once again brings the two teams to a tie. On the other side of the field, DeMar DeRozan (25 points, 8 assists) misses and offers the last opportunity to the Sixers with four seconds to play.
Back in the game Kelly Oubre Jr. it lands in the hands of Joel Embiid. Pivot serve to Tyrese Maxey who rushes to the circle to make a layup by drawing a foul from Preshas Achiuwa. If he misses his free throw from behind, it’s enough to give the Sixers the win (113-111).
WHAT TO REMEMBER
Tyrese McKay and Joel Embiid in the oven and in the mill. Philadelphia’s offensive performance can be summed up by the Tyrese McKay-Joel Embiid duo, as they have been so valuable to the Sixers. In the first half, the tandem scored 42 of Philadelphia’s 60 points. When they’re on the bench, Philadelphia’s offense ends up trailing 9-0 early in the fourth quarter. When the two All-Stars return to the floor, Nick Nourse’s men come back and score before winning in the last second. The last basket was scored by Tyrese Maxey after a pass from Joel Embiid. The duo finished with 77 points (40 for Maxey, 37 for Embiid).
Between rebounds and turnovers. The Kings can certainly regret this matchup as they had the ammunition to win despite the absences Russell Westbrook etc Malik Monk. Behind the McKay-Embiid duo, Philadelphia’s offense wasn’t inspiring, and its defense wasn’t much better. Sacramento took advantage of the opportunity to grab rebounds and give themselves numerous second chances, allowing them to take the lead in the fourth quarter. However, this good rebounding effort was counterbalanced by Doug Christie’s sixteen turnovers.
Kings sink, Sixers move on. With this loss, Sacramento concedes its seventh consecutive loss and sinks further into the depths of the West. The Kings now have the same record as the Pelicans (12-37), both at the bottom of their conference. As for the Sixers, Philadelphia is coming off its second straight before taking on New Orleans this Saturday.
