In trouble, Taurus no longer have an identity

To seem far away nice start to the season Bulls… Billy Donovan’s men suffered their 7th straight loss at home last night, and now they are 11. This is about their place every year, and on Sunday night, they got a big blow against the Warriors, who were stripped of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. The Bulls also have their share of absences, but their coach doesn’t excuse it.

“Look, they had absentees too, just like us,” Donovan recalled. “Obviously we’ve had players in different roles, different playing time – different starting five, so to speak. But your identity has to be transferred to the whole team, no matter who’s playing.”

The problem for the Bulls is the start of the matches. They start out very bad and then exhaust themselves trying to come back. And when your legs and head stop responding, it gives you a beating that night.

“Some players have been pushed into situations where their playing time has changed, their responsibilities have changed, we have to be able to stay true to that identity.”Donovan continues. “Yes, there are all these injuries, but what about the things we can control in how we play and what we need to be able to produce? Some of the things we pay in cash are related to ball creation and turnovers. We’ve put a lot of responsibility on certain guys, simply because injuries have taken away players capable of creating. But we have to do better.”

A group that is loved, but…

With a squad of eight players at the end of their contracts, the future is very uncertain and that may be weighing on people’s minds. “I think it’s a group that gets along very, very well”Donovan assures. “Everybody loves each other. But (we can’t win) until they start loving each other enough to set rebound screens and then go on the floor — and they’re not doing it all for themselves, they’re doing it for the teammates next to them. Because we don’t have the luxury of having Jimmy Butler kill the game with a 3-pointer and some penetration. We have to do it together.”

The term “together” was also uttered by Kobe White, who must have the feeling that he has lived through the same scenario every year since his arrival in the NBA. “No matter what we do, we must do it together”, he concludes. “That’s the most important thing. I’ve been here for a long time, I’ve seen a lot of situations, I’ve experienced a lot of scenarios, and the main thing is that we don’t start pointing fingers. I’m not saying that we did it, but we’re still human. That’s why today it’s most important that we stay united. The season is still long. »
