Indiana basketball player Darian DeVries had a dejected reaction to Nebraska’s collapse

After that The Indiana basketball team destroyed the Penn State Nittany Lions On December 9, the program won four of its next five games, although that momentum was halted in an 83-77 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. With The Indiana basketball team led by first-time coach Darian DeVrieshe reacted harshly to the loss, ending his four-game winning streak.
Speaking after the game, DeVries had a dismayed view of the contest, especially since the Hoosiers dropped 53 points in the second half, something the head coach emphasized. DeVries one would wonder on whether the Cornhuskers’ defense changed in the second half, but focused more on the offense, committing 14 turnovers and giving up 53 points.
“They were a little more hugged, which is even for them throughout the game; they weren’t pulled back as far as they normally are on some things because they’re really kind of a man-to-man zone,” DeVries said, according to On3 Sports. “So you don’t usually get to the rim very often … I guess they were a little more concerned about their shooting. So we were able to get more opportunities at the rim tonight when we got them going, as long as we got them going.”
“I thought for the most part we scored a lot minus the turnovers,” DeVries continued. “I mean, our offense was the turnovers, but it wasn’t necessarily our offense that got us the win. It was the turnovers and then the defensive breakdowns in the second half. That’s the biggest difference. You can’t give up 50 points at home. It just can’t happen.”
The Indiana State basketball team is now 12-4, and is looking to bounce back against No. 12 Michigan State on Monday night.
