Indiana is making a lineup change amid a terrible 2-13 start
The Indiana Pacers they were on top of the world during their summer, where they were just one win away from winning the NBA Championship. Things just haven’t been the same since then, since Tyrese Haliburton suffered an Achilles injury in Game 7 of the NBA Finals to Myles Turner, who signed with his rivals early in free agency. This season is no better, as they have dealt with a few more injuries.
That has led to the Pacers continuing to trade players in the free agent market, and they have recently made another move after a win against the Charlotte Hornets.
“Indiana Pacers plan to waive guard.” Monte Morris and sign Jeremy Robinson-Earl to a standard, non-guaranteed contract, sources tell ESPN. Robinson-Earl averaged 5.2 points and 6.2 rebounds in two 10-day tough deals,” Charania wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
With the Pacers dealing with injuries at the point guard position, they signed Morris to fill the void. For the most part, they were able to get most of their position players back, meaning Morris would no longer be needed.
Robinson-Earl will now have an opportunity to add some depth at the forward position for the Pacers, but it is uncertain how long he will stay. Mac McClung spent some time with the Pacers earlier in the season before being waived for Morris.
The Pacers are now 2-13 after the win against the Hornets, and are doing their best to stay competitive in games despite all the injuries. Earlier in the season, Pascal Siakam joked how they played until now.
“It’s almost funny. But it’s not funny,” Siakam said, via Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star. “You want to feel good about the effort, but the result isn’t there. It’s a tough, tough time for us as a team. We just have to keep going. … It’s hard to be positive, but we have to.”
