Indiana is re-signing James Weisman on a 10-day deal

It’s been a bit of a rocky journey for James Wiseman lately, having only played in two games since 2024. However, it appears he will have another opportunity after reuniting with Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

Reports indicate that Wiseman, who is 24, is signing the contract for 10 days with Indiana. The club announced it was releasing Gabe McGlothan from his 10-day contract in order to bring in Wiseman.

“We have signed center James Wiseman to a ten-day contract. We have subsequently released forward Gabe McGlothan from his ten-day contract.”

The fifth-year center made a point for the Pacers this season in the team’s 128-103 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Oct. 25. However, he last played a game with Indiana in the 2024-25 campaign, where he came off the bench for a few minutes.

James Wiseman now has a chance to earn a longer-term role, depending on how he plays during this 10-day contract. they exist rumors that the Pacers are looking potential trade to improve the situation in the center in the long run. For now, however, the team is relying on Jay Huff and Isaiah Jackson at center. Wiseman will get his first opportunity to play for the Pacers on Saturday when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans at 7pm ET.

Wiseman is a former first round pick of the Golden State Warriors. He was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He was traded to the Detroit Pistons in his third season. But after his fourth year in the league, Detroit released him in free agency. Since then, he has made two appearances for the Pacers.
