‘Influential’ members are already looking to replace Nick Harrison
The The Dallas Mavericks fired general manager Nick Harrison on Tuesday. Harrison couldn’t survive the intense anger that fans have been throwing at him for months, ever since the Luka Doncic trade. Now the search for Harrison’s replacement begins.
there is already some scuttlebutt about who will take over the job and try to get the franchise back on track. The Mavericks’ most influential voices seem to be pulling for the candidate.
“There have already been attempts among some influential voices in the organization to try to bring back former Detroit adviser Harrison Dennis Lindsey, sources tell The Stein Linebut Dallas is expected to install an interim front office first after Harrison’s departure,” reported Mark Stein on X, formerly Twitter.
Lindsay currently serves as the senior vice president of basketball operations for the Detroit Pistons. Mavericks owner Patrick Dumont is meeting with the team on Tuesday until notify them of the changeStein also reported in a separate post.
Dallas is just 3-8 this season, falling to the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. During Monday’s Mavericks-Bucks game, Dallas fans chanted “Shoot Niko.” It was an awkward situation, as now the former GM was staring into space from his seat.
Mavericks fans were also heard shouting for the general manager to be firedas they poured out of the arena into the streets.
Nick Harrison’s tenure with The Mavericks ended with frustration

Harrison was the architect of the deal that sent Doncic last season to the Los Angeles Lakers. While it was a multi-player trade, Dallas’ big piece in return was veteran Anthony Davis.
Doncic has played very well for the Lakers since then, while Davis has struggled with injuries in Dallas. That trade infuriated Mavericks fans, and the fury hasn’t cooled since. It seemed inevitable that the Mavericks would have to make a change at the general manager position.
Time will tell who replaces Harrison up front. Dallas next plays against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night.
