Injury news for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White will draw fans’ attention
With The Boston Celtics are coming off a loss against the New York Knicks on Friday night, 105-95, the team looks to bounce back against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. As it is The Celtics lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in the opener and then the Knicks, the team is looking for its first win of the season, although some injury updates could prevent the team from reaching its full potential.
As Mark Stein said on X, formerly Twitter, he reported it Jailen Brown is questionable for the contest against the Pistons for “left hamstring strain reconstruction,” doc Derrick White is likely because it has to do with a sprained right wrist.
“Celtics say Jaylen Brown (left hamstring strain) is questionable for Sunday’s game against Detroit,” Stein wrote on X. “Derrick White (sprained right wrist) is probable.”
Brown is coming off a game in which he scored 23 points on nine-of-18 shooting from the field, going three-of-seven from beyond the arc, with a disappointing seven turnovers. White would record 15 points on 5-of-18 shooting from the field, 3-of-11 from deep, along with four rebounds and an assist.
Jaylen Brown of the Celtics stands out as an exceptional rookie

Doc rumors continue to surround Celtics star Jayson Tatum and when he returns from injury, the team is looking for any player to step up, not standout players like Brown, White and others. One player who stood out in the loss to the Knicks was rookie guard Hugo Gonzalez, who made his debut midway through the first quarter and showed his defensive intensity and athleticism.
He would record six points on 3-of-6 shooting from the field, four rebounds, an assist and two steals, attracting attention by Brown, via MassLive.
“Hugo looks great, man,” Brown said. “Hugo plays with energy; he plays with fight. That’s the type of mentality we need. He picks guys. I like what I’ve seen from him, how he guards some of the team’s best players. We need more of that. It can’t just be from the cannons.”
It remains to be seen if Brown will miss the upcoming game as Boston takes on Detroit.
