Insider likes potential Green fit with Suns despite Brooks beef
The NBA trade deadline is on the horizon, and all kinds of crazy trade scenarios could still play out for teams. Draymond Green is mentioned in NBA trade talks as the Warriors try to maximize their championship frame with Stephen Curry. There is no guarantee that Green will be traded, but after Jimmy Butler’s ACL tearit’s definitely something Golden State is thinking about.
NBA insider Matt Moore floated the idea that Green is going to Phoenix Suns like a great fitalthough Green and Dillon Brooks were angry with each other for a while. Moore says the two might fight with their fists at first, but after that they’d be a tough team that could withstand outside noise.
Specifically, Moore said, “I think Phoenix is great for him. Yeah, he and Dillon Brooks would fight. But after that first fight, they’d be a tough team and they have the culture to withstand his bullshit.”
Recently, Green and Brooks talked about podcasting while playing. Brooks reignited the feud after saying Green isn’t good at basketball because their focus is elsewhere.
I run into guys who want to do a podcast while they play,” said Brooks, who took home the Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday. “They’re all terrible.”
“Too much talk for me,” Brooks added. “But I say they’re not good at basketball because they’re so focused on (podcasts).”
It didn’t take Green long to see what he said and clap him.
“I don’t really feel the need to get into a twist. If I were Dillon Brooks, I wouldn’t like this podcast either, because he got destroyed on this podcast,” Green said Monday. “Maybe it helped that he was traded from the Memphis Grizzlies, where he ended up saying he really enjoyed the game. I get it. I totally get it.
“I know my name is making waves around this place,” Green said. “So, I get it. ‘Say Draymond’s name, I’ll get a little more attention.’ That’s sweet. And I respect that because it’s true. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make his first All-Star game.”
