Is an Andrew Wiggins reunion on the table at the trade deadline?
As it is The Golden State Warriors are surrounded by rumors before the Feb. 5 trade deadline, there were several names linked to the team, with one that fans are very familiar with. With The Warriors welcome back Andrew Wiggins as part of the Miami Heat for last Monday’s game, there was a thought that the team might want a reunion with the veteran.
It was an emotional moment for Wiggins to return to play with Golden State for the first time in a Miami uniform, as he was a productive and key part of the championship team in 2022. According to ClutchPoints’ NBA insider Brett Siegel, it was NBA personnel “connect” Wiggins with the Warriorsas well as DeMar DeRozan of the Sacramento Kings.
“League personnel are linking wings and forwards like Andrew Wiggins and DeMar DeRozan to the Warriors,” Siegel wrote Thursday. “This is an area where the Warriors are said to be evaluating the trade market, as the ability to add significant frontcourt talent is not viewed as a priority over addressing the forward positions.”
“A potential Wiggins return would be a real story that’s interesting to discuss as a hypothetical trade scenario,” Siegel continued. “But that would also result in parting ways with Moody, Hilda or someone else to match salaries.”
There is a “mutual love” between Andrew Wiggins, Warrior

While it is The Warriors await the trade deadlinea move for Wiggins would be a great story, though the veteran has been given a role in Miami of late. But it could be argued that Golden State desperately needs Wiggins more, especially after the news Jimmy Butler has a torn ACL.
If anything, the “mutual love” between Wiggins and the team is still there, as Siegel mentions.
“Kerr showed his affection for Wiggins during his recent return to San Francisco for the first time as a member of the Miami Heat, and many members of the organization spent time talking with the former first-round pick while he was in town,” Siegel wrote.
Siegel reports that Golden State’s plan now is that “the front office will continue to search the market to make a significant move and keep this roster in a position to compete come playoff time.” It remains to be seen what the team will do as February 5 approaches.
