In the second leg of a five-game road trip, Portland Trail Blazers travels to the east coast to take up the fight Charlotte Hornets on Saturday afternoon. Forward Dani Avdija, who played only one full game since the All-Star break, headlines the injury report. Here’s everything we know about Danny Avdia’s injury and his playing status against the Hornets.

Danny Avdia’s injury status against the Hornets

After a solid start to the 2025-2026 season, Avdija has been slowed by injuries over the past month. Avdia is currently slowed by a back injury that sidelined him for the first minute of the Blazers’ Sunday night game against the Phoenix Suns.

Avdija has not returned to the field since then, missing Portland’s last two games. He is listed as questionable for Saturday and is expected to miss his third straight contest.

Interim coach Tiago Splitter he addressed Chris Murray in Avdia’s absence. Murray enters Saturday’s game without back-to-back double-digit scoring and should make his 14th start of the season against the Hornets. He will join Jr. Holiday, Toumana Camara, Jerami Grant and Donovan Clingan in the Blazers’ starting lineup.

Klingan was listed as questionable after missing the Blazers’ last game due to illness. If he misses another game, expect Scoot Henderson to remain in the starting lineup.

Holliday and Grant made up for the scoring deficit in Avdia’s absence, with Henderson soaking up the extra minutes off the bench. Holiday is currently in his best stretch of the season, averaging 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in February.

With Avdia likely to miss another game, expect the same Blazers team that just beat the Chicago Bulls 121-112 on Thursday to face the Hornets.
