Is Jamal Murray playing tonight? Nuggets vs. Celtics injury report
The Denver Nuggets host the Boston Celtics in a heavyweight cross-conference matchup Wednesday night at Ball Arena. They come to this game have lost two of their last three and once again named several players on the injury list, incl Jamal Murray.
According to the NBA’s official injury reportJamal Murray is listed as probable as he manages a right hamstring strain. Meanwhile, Denver will be without key defensive anchors Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson, who are both sidelined with hamstring strains.
The Boston Celtics have not released their injury list at the time of writing, but are expected to be better equipped than their opponents. Jayson Tatum is the only sure absence as Jaylen Brown is nursing a bruised right knee that kept him out against the Phoenix Suns.
Jamal Murray’s injury status against the Celtics

With Jamal Murray likely on the injury report, the assumption is that he will suit up in whatever the shopping lineup is. Murray had 21 points but shot just 9-17 in the loss against the Golden State Warriors and will be itching to get back to his original form.
Denver boasts a high-octane offense, averaging a league-best 120.8 points per game with an incredible offensive rating of 118.9. They are led by MVP leader Nikola Jokic, who enters Wednesday with five triple-doubles in his last seven games, bringing his league-leading total to 21.
However, Denver’s defense faltered mightily without Gordon and Watson, falling to 24th in points allowed per 100 possessions (114.7). Even without franchise cornerstone Jayson Tatum (Achilles rehab) and with leading scorer Jaylen Brown (right knee injury) listed as day-to-day, the Celtics were an absolute behemoth.
They are riding a four-game winning streak in the Mile High City, winning nine of their last ten while surrendering an NBA-low 107.6 points per game. In such a scenario, Murray’s presence becomes even more important.
He averaged 25.5 points, 7.5 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game and is expected to play a role again.
