Kristaps Porzingis’ injury status against the Hornets

Unfortunately, Kristaps Porzingis will miss Sunday’s game against Charlotte as the team decides to rest him. Porzingis has yet to play back-to-back so far this season, and the team’s plan seems to be to consistently keep him out of those scenarios.
Meanwhile, Onyeka Okongwu, who missed Saturday night’s win over the New Orleans Pelicans, is questionable with left ankle inflammation, according to Brad Rowland of the Locked on Hawks podcast on X, formerly Twitter. Luke Kennard is also questionable due to inflammation in his left hip.
Trae Young, of course, remains sidelined with an MCL injury suffered in the first week of the season.
The Hornets are yet to release their injury report for the match.
If both Okongwu and Porzingis can’t go, the Hawks would likely rely heavily on frontcourt players like Mo Gueye and rookie Asa Newell to do most of the heavy lifting, and head coach Quin Snyder would have to try some small lineups in rushes.
Overall, the Hawks are currently 10-7 on the season and look to take advantage of a fairly easy stretch of their schedule as Young continues his recovery from injury.
Either way, the Hawks and Hornets will tip things off at 6:00 PM ET from Atlanta.
