Tara Eason Injury Status vs. Timberwolves

With Taree Eason’s questionable status under day-to-day scrutiny after missing the Rockets’ game against the Thunder on Thursday, there’s a chance he’ll suit up. Eason has been on the injury report a lot these days, but most of his time is day-to-day.

The Rockets will look to bounce back from a fourth-quarter collapse in a 20-point loss to the Thunder. The Thunder outscored the Rockets 34-16 in the final frame, limiting Kevin Durant to 19 points on 7-of-23 shooting and Alperen Sengun to 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Eason has missed three straight games with a right ankle injury. He last played in a pair of Rockets losses to the Blazers on Jan. 7 and Jan. 9. Eason is averaging 13.4 points on 41% shooting, including 41.7% from deep, 8.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game through five games in January. He has started nine of 21 games this season.

Eason is averaging 12.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game while averaging career bests in field goal percentage (47.7%) and 3-point shooting (46.9%) this season. The Rockets have lost five of their last six games, including two against the Blazers, one against the Kings and the defending champions.
