Ja Morant almost gets into a fight with Mohamed Gueye

It didn’t take long to The Memphis Grizzlies are guarding Ja Morant to enter another fight. But this time it’s not with his teammate.

The Grizzlies faced the Atlanta Hawks at the FedExForum on Wednesday, and things heated up in the second quarter. Morant tried to attack the rim, but was tackled by Hawks center Mouhamed Gueye. No foul was called.

Morant fell to the ground and tried to retrieve the ball. Gueie tied him up. As soon as Morant got up, he pushed Gueye from behind, inciting the latter to retaliate and grabbed his ex’s jersey.

Luckily, it didn’t escalate into a full-on riot as cooler heads prevailed and Morant even laughed.

It was the controversial guard’s second game back from a shin injury. He returned in their win over the Orlando Magic, 126-109, in London on Sunday. He recorded a team-high 24 points and 13 assists with five rebounds.

Morant got into an altercation with Grizzlies guard Vince Williams Jr. during a shootaround before their game against the Magic.

The 26-year-old playmaker, who has been limited to 20 games this season due to various injuries, has been at the center of trade rumors. He has hinted that he wants to stay, but with the way things are going, it looks like The Grizzlies are ready to move on without him.

Off-field issues and other shenanigans have dogged Morant over the past few years, and some already consider him a wasted talent.

As of this writing, the Grizzlies are slightly ahead of the Hawks in the third quarter.
