Ja Morant buys house in Miami throws gas on trade rumors

The Memphis Grizzlies made it known that are open for trading by Ja Morantand it seems the All-Star point guard could be ready for a fresh start, too. In his first media availability since the rumours, Morant was asked about the noise surrounding himand he said he had to live with it.
There are several teams that are reportedly interested in trading for Morant, but there is one team in particular that concerns Morant and his camp, and that is the Miami Heat. Not that this could be a connection, but some people did a little digging and discovered that Morant he has a house in Miami which he bought just a few weeks ago, according to Lucas Finton and Damichael Cole of the Commercial Appeal.
“Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant has purchased a home in Miami, according to Miami-Dade County property records,” the Commercial Complaint said. “Records show that on Dec. 23, 2025, Morant was listed as the executor of a trust that purchased the $3.2 million home. The purchase was made more than two weeks before sources confirmed the Grizzlies were considering selling Morant.
“The property’s address will not be listed in the commercial complaint for security reasons, but the home is approximately four miles, or about a 20-minute drive, from the arena where the Miami Heat play.”
Would you say coincidence? Maybe because players always buy houses in places other than where they play. Miami is a beautiful city, so it makes sense to want to stay there during the off-season.
At the same time, this doesn’t make rumors that he thinks the Heat are an attractive place to play any cooler. The Grizzlies will trade him to the highest bidder, but if the Heat are that team, Morant will already have a place to live.
